SHAH ALAM – Persons with Disabilities (PwD) may enjoy free public transportation services soon.

This was disclosed by Women, Family and Community Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri who said that the matter was discussed with Transport Minister, Anthony Loke before the Cabinet meeting today.

In the same tweet, she mentioned that Loke has given the green light and will think of the ideal way to carry it out.

"Before the Cabinet meeting, I had a chance to discuss with Anthony Loke to give free fare to disabled people who use public transport such as LRT, MRT and stage bus.

"He agreed in principle and would think of the best mechanism to implement it," she wrote.

During National Day last year, the disabled got to enjoy free rides on all public transport services under the purview of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad.

The benefit was enjoyed for a month on all Prasarana's services such as Rapid KL, Rapid Penang, Rapid Kuantan including the LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT or bus stop and Rapid Mobility.
