Ismail Sabri to defend Umno Bera division post, undecided on contesting VP post

He said it was still too early to make a decision but confirmed that he would defend his Umno Bera division chief post.
"I need to discuss with the Bera people first (to defend the position of vice president)," he was quoted in Astro Awani.
"But for sure, I will defend the Bera division Umno chief post," he told reporters at a function here, today.
Ismail Sabri, the former prime minister said the recent Umno General Assembly had decided that only the position of vice president and below will be contested, further stating the decision seemed to be a "final decision".
"We don't know what will happen after this. If there is any (action) legislation or related to legislation... for example if there are people who challenge the decision, it might be different.
"But as of today, based on the general assembly's decision, the post of president and deputy president are not contested," he added.
