Zahid denies 'twisting' Hadi's statement on vote buying

PUTRAJAYA - Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi denies twisting the statement made by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang over vote buying during the 15th general elections (GE15).

He said it was a written statement released by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Tan Sri Azam Baki that the act of giving away cash handouts during GE15 as potential vote-buying.

"This statement is from MACC chief. Not in any way twisted words," he said.

He said this after Pas Ulama Council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya claimed Zahid has the intention to confuse the public.

Zahid cynically added that Umno did not have the money to donate. “Please continue to donate from the unclear and questionable source,” he added.
