KUALA LUMPUR - Raids around Klang Valley on Thursday reveal the trade of vape liquids laced with drugs at the local market.

Federal police Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) said the department conducted raids at Setapak, Kuala Lumpur and Puchong, Selangor.

In the first operation, police arrested two local men aged 24 and 35 suspected to be involved in processing and distributing the drugs.

"The raiding team seized 35 bottles of vape liquid with an estimated volume of 350 millilitres valued at about RM5,250, after inspecting the suspects’ motorcycle.

"Police also successfully seized empty boxes and bottles believed to be used to package vape liquid on the second raid at a residence in Puchong," NCID said in a statement on their official Facebook page.

The activities had been ongoing for several months and the syndicate's modus operandi was to mix drug liquid into vape flavours before distributing the drugs around Klang Valley via courier delivery services, the department said.

"Police believe they have busted a drug-laced vape liquid processing and distribution syndicate active around Klang Valley," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 with punishment of imprisonment not more than five years or a fine not more than RM100,000 or both if convicted.
