KUALA LUMPUR - The preliminary objections of Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and two others to the petition constructed by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates will be heard at the Kuala Terengganu High Court this Monday and Tuesday.

Apart from the Marang MP, two others were the Kemaman MP, Che Alias Hamid, and the Kuala Terengganu MP, Datuk Amzad Hashim.

The objection will be heard separately by three election judges via public and zoom platform.

As for Hadi’s appeal, it will be heard on Monday at 10 am by judge Datuk Hassan Abdul Ghani, followed by Alias’ objection at 2.30 pm through Zoom by judge Datuk Mohamad Abazafree.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Amzad's objection also will be conducted via online on the next day (Jan 31) by judge Datuk Seri Firuz Jaffril.

On Jan 16, Sinar Harian reported that the Umno Terengganu Liaison Office filed a petition to annul the results of the 15th General Election (GE15) for the Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Kemaman parliamentary districts.

The petition which involved the three constituencies, was filed on Jan 3, in accordance with the Election Offenses Act 1954.

In GE15, Umno Terengganu Chairman, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said who represented BN and three other candidates who contested the Kemaman parliamentary seat, lost to Pas candidate, Che Alias ​​Hamid who won with a majority of 27,179 votes.
