TV9 to broadcast MQT 2.0 on Sunday

SHAH ALAM - TV9 under Media Prima will be the first television station to broadcast My #QuranTime (MQT) 2.0 programme starting this Sunday.

MQT 2.0 which will air every day from noon to 1pm is a Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) production and will be broadcasted from the My #QuranTime studio at Shah Alam.

WUIF founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub said the programme with a total 2,114 episodes aims to aid Muslims in understanding and memorizing the Quran as well as building good habits.

The programme is currently in its i second season after MQT 1.0 success which had 838 episodes and was aired on My #QuranTime Official Youtube channel and TV Alhijrah.

"What's special about this second season is our main goal is to help Muslims understand and memorise the Quran better and to contemplate its meanings, we also would like to help in terms of recitation

"All of the the 604 pages of the al-Quran and the Al-Hafiz Quran module has been approved by the Home Ministry (KDN)," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He added WUIF did a more in-depth research about MQT this time around with total of eight WUIF researchers and al-Quran experts in Malaysia and Indonesia.

These experts were involved in advising and referencing 21 books to produce each MQT episode.

"The MQT programme is offered for free to TV9 and all broadcasting stations in Malaysia and abroad as result of the public's donation to Tabung Gerakan Al-Quran (a fund for the Al-Quran movement ) which has been established since 2020 under the Wakaf Konten (Waqf content) mission.

The mission was to research and publish various educational programmes based on the al-Quran and to change the ummah's mindset and character through an online source that can be easily accessed around the world," he explained.

Hussamuddin said MQT 2.0 first episode twas aired every day since Dec 14 last year at the My #QuranTime official Youtube and Facebook page and has garnered 700,000 viewers from 48 episodes.

"Live broacast on TV9 will begin this Sunday, Feb 5, 2023 from noon to 1pm, starting from episode 54 following the sequence of the My #QuranTime screening on official digital platforms.

"The repeat telecast of episode 1 until the end (episode 2,114) on TV9 will start on Feb 6, with two episodes airing every day at 4.30am until 6.30am," he stated.

He explained other television station will follow suit in airing the educational programme MQT 2.0, and TV Alhijrah and Astro Oasis are currently in the midst of fixing technical issues before announcing their broadcast date.
