SHAH ALAM - Kuala Nerus Umno member Aizat Fikri Mohd Nasir confirms receiving a response letter from Registrar of Societies (RoS) regarding his complaints over alleged violation of party’s constitution during the 2022 Umno General Assembly (PAU 2022).

He said the letter dated Jan 26 stated investigation and review of the complaints were in progress.

"I want to thank the RoS for seriously reviewing the complaints about the violation of Umno constitution during PAU 2022.

"I hope Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan does not surpass RoS in making decisions and he does not interfere with the ongoing investigation," he said in a statement today.

He explained that such actions could affect the people's trust in the institution, responsible for the governance of organisation in Malaysia.

Ahmad, in a statement through Facebook, insisted no violation of the constitution or the meeting's rules took place during PAU 2022.

Aizat said Ahmad’s statement had described the situation as somewhat 'premature.'

"I believe RoS will conduct an explicit investigation by summoning the representatives in Dewan Merdeka as well as Umno Supreme Council members, to get a clear and fair view of the situation," he said.

He added, during their discussion, RoS had also informed him that they would seek advice and guidance from the ministry's legal advisor.

"For me, it is far from over and hopefully the truth will be revealed," he said.
