KUALA LUMPUR - Seven years after his historic gold medal at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, sprinter Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi proved that he was back in business, bagging the 100m T35/36 (physical disability) at the World Athletics Grand Prix in Tunisia yesterday.

Mohamad Ridzuan blitzed the competition with a time of 12.51s, a comfortable distance ahead of closest challenger Abdulsattar Challoob of Iraq, who took home the silver medal at 13.04s, while Anass Sikouk of Morocco took the bronze with a time of 13.69s at the Rades Sports Stadium in Tunis.

Another Malaysian athlete, Muhamad Afiq Mohamad ALi Hanafiah took home the silver medal in the 100m T11/12 (blind) with a time of 11.67s.

Muhamad Afiq could not match Uzbekistan's Mansur Abdurashidov, who bagged the gold medal with a time of 11.28s, while Mohammed Ayade of IRaq settled for the bronze medal with a time of 12.09s.

The para athletics events at the Grand Prix leg ends tomorrow.-BERNAMA
