PUTRAJAYA - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has discussed with the Special Advisory Body to the Finance Minister on the country’s economic and financial standing.

However, he did not specify the tasks given to the body.

"Yes, we had a discussion," he said after the Finance Ministry monthly gathering, here today.

He said the Special Advisory Body chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican will make a separate announcement later.

"Hassan will make an announcement," Anwar said.

Yesterday, Anwar announced that a Special Advisory Body was set up comprising professionals and economic experts to assist and advise him as Finance Minister.

Apart from Hassan, four other members of the body were FVSB Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk Ahmad Fuad Md Ali, Sunway University’s Professor of Economics Prof Dr Yeah Kim Leng, University Malaya’s Professor of Economics Distinguished Professor Datuk Dr Rajah Rasiah and Sarawak Energy Berhad chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi.
