KUANTAN - A driver and five passengers died the van they were travelling in skidded at Kilometre 4.8 along Jalan Genting Highlands, today.

The van that was on its way down to Kuala Lumpur was ferrying 15 passengers in total.

Pahang Malaysian Fire and Rescue Services Operations Division Assistant Director Ismail Abdul Ghani said a man and five local women died in the accident.

He said the Genting Highlands Fire and Rescue Department (BBP) were informed of the accident at 1.15pm.

“Five personnel including two officers were sent to the scene to rescue victims involved.

“Other passengers were successfully saved using rescue equipment,” he said.
