Welfare dept tracks parents of six-year old Nur Iman Madiha

BUKIT MERTAJAM - The Seberang Perai Tengah Welfare Department (JKM) is tracking the biological parents of a six-year-old child known as Nur Iman Madiha.

Its Social Welfare assistant officer Noor Liza Azezool said the child was left by her Indonesian parents without any identification and was under the care of Fahmi Ismail and his wife Suhaila Mohtar.

The child was abandoned by her biological parents when she was just nine days old.

“The father said he wanted to return to Indonesia with his wife (biological mother) for an alternative medicine for her medical condition.

“They are yet to return and the caretakers have lodged a police,” she said to Sinar on Wednesday.

Liza said the application for exemption from Section 15(3) of the Child Act 2001 has been approved fto circulate her photo in the media.

She said those in the know of the whereabouts of the biological parents to contact the Seberang Perai Tengah Child Protection at 04-538 2584 (Noraida).
