SHAH ALAM - Umno youth is in need of drastic changes.

According to the party's Youth exco member Noor Azleen Ambros he agreed with the suggestion made by vicee-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, however there is a big question mark on what kind of changes can be implemented, "After all, we want to restore the trust among the Malays. I don't think there is one right answer or thing to do.

"All this time, Umno has been known for its politics of devotion, people don't want that now, Another factor may be an issue in terms of the level of confidence of the people towards the party's leadership," he said.

He was commenting on Ismail Sabri's statement that Umno needed to make drastic changes in order to appeal more to the younger generation.

Noor Azleen went on to say that the former Prime Minister also did not elaborate on what sort of drastic changes that the party needs,

"A big question that actually is a necessity for those at the leadership levels is to determine what kind of specific changes that the party needs? Why do you want to make the change?

"In any case, what Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said is correct, but who will be able to bring the agendavof change ? If we don't make changes, we are worried that the party's chances in the State Election (PRN), and the 16th General Election (GE16) look grim," he said.

Meanwhile, Federal Territories Umno youth leader Mohamed Nizham Abdullah Hamidi stated that the party leadership must play a role in bringing about change.

"If we realise that we have a liability, it means from the perception point of view that Umno is a party that misuses power and is corrupt, we need to find the reason why is this perception being formed?

"From that point of view, we can know why and how to make a comeback. In my opinion, if Umno wants to change, people want a total overhaul," he said.
