ICPKL Day One: Discussion on developments in Palestine
SEREMBAN - The International Conference on Palestine, Kuala Lumpur (ICPKL) has officially kicked off today.
With the aim of helping to bridge the international community with Palestinian prisoners, the grand event saw the participation of 500 international and local delegates at the Royal Chulan Hotel here today.
On day one of the three-day conference, Al-Quds Foundation chief executive officer Dr Sharif Amin Abu Shammala gave the latest updates on Palestine and its people's situation.
Next, ICPKL's project director Farwina Faroque said today's conference also included the presentation of strategic planning for Palestine by several representatives.
“The representative are from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, Cambodia, South Africa, and Vietnam”, she added.
One of the participants, Selin Ahmetoğlu, 25 from the Global Woman Coalition from Turkey expressed her gratitude to the ICPKL for having a great conference in order to advocate for public awareness on Palestine issues.
"By having this conference, this is one of the steps to showing the world that we are with Palestinians," she said.
Another participant, Khalifah Syohratul, 24, from Masyarakat Peduli Al-Aqsa Indonesia (MPA)expressed his hoped that by participating in this conference, it would be her first huge step to join the humanitarian effort in Palestine and beyond.
“This is my first time joining this conference, I'm excited to exchange the views or opinions with the other delegates from all over the world", she said.
