SHAH ALAM - Former education minister Dr Maszlee Malik has urged DAP to take immediate action

against Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P Ramasamy following his insensitive remark towards Malays.

The former Simpang Renggam MP said the party must take disciplinary action towards the leader.

“He (Ramasamy) is a big liability for the unity government, DAP must take disciplinary action before it is too late,” he said on his Twitter, on Saturday.

Ramasamy on Friday urged Anwar to reform the civil service, saying the sector is currently dominated by the Malays due to what he said were policies implemented by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He said the old argument in favour of the Malays to balance the economic dominance of the Chinese is no longer applicable.

He was reported as saying that Mahathir used this argument to institutionalise Malay hegemony in the public sector especially public services.

Ramasamy was criticised by several parties for his statement
