SEREMBAN - The International Conference on Palestine Kuala Lumpur (ICPKL) Charity Gala Dinner has successfully collected sufficient monetary assistance to fund at least 20 Palestinian prisoners' families for one year.

Malaysian Women’s Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine Chairperson Dr Fauziah Mohd Hassan expressed her gratitude to all the participants and for their contribution.

"Alhamdullilah, praise be to Allah SWT for enabling us to have this gathering tonight."Thank you all for the support to ensure the success of this fund-raising charity dinner," she said.

During her speech, she also reflected on the verse of the Holy Quran, Al Munafiqqun, where Islam encourages Muslims to take part in charity.

"So, dear honourable guests, we give you the opportunity to do so tonight by donating towards this cause," she added.

Fauziah also said that tonight’s dinner and its cause coicides with the celebration in Islam, the Isra’ and Mi’raj (Night Journey and Ascension of Prophet Muhammad). "It was the turning point, and the Prophet Muhammad SAW had a vision and mission to free Baitul Maqdis.

"This vision gave great hope to the Prophet and also to the oppressed Muslims in Makkah, so the blessed land of Al Quds is known to be the land of hope," she said.

Fauziah added that one of the strategies of the Prophet was to instill in the hearts a sense of attachment to the the land of hope, Baitul Maqdis.

"They indulged in their thoughts, actions, dreams, vision, and mission of liberating and praying in Masjidil Aqsa.
