New feature tightens MyJPJ security, Loke announce

KUALA LUMPUR - The roadtax digital application MyJPJ introduces a new feature to tighten security in a bid to ensure its users data are well protected.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the feature was added following the public's suggestion.

"The people were concerned if any parties had access to their identity card (IC) number as it needed when they sign up for the application.

“The new feature is during registration, the user must include the unique code behind the driving license.

“That was a brilliant and constructive criticism that we received and I have approved the suggestion from the Road and Transport Department to add the feature to the application,” he told the media members at Pasar Seni LRT Station today.

Loke said the feature would also make it difficult for external parties to use the IC number involved.

He said this after officiating the Arts on The Move event organised by Think City and partners namely MRT Corporation, Sime Darby Foundation, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry.

Loke said the application has garnered 2.5 millieon downloads and registration since its launch four days ago.
