'You can probe PN but don't abuse your power' Muhyiddin reminds Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is open to any probe but has reminded Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim not to abuse his powers as prime minister to pressure him and PN.

The Pagoh MP denied taking the rakyat's money while he was in power.

"I did not take a single cent from the people's money. You can investigate but don't lump me with others.

"Don't lump my party with others. I want to remind Tambun (Anwar) not to abuse his powers as prime minister to put pressure on me and PN.

"I want to remind MPs here that Tambun was found guilty in court for abusing powers.

"I'm sorry, it is not my intention to create a negative perception but that was the past," he said in Dewan Rakyat, today.

Muhyiddin claimed the government administration now tends to take action in the form of witch-hunting or finding faults of the previous government that did not exist.

He said the accusation thrown did not make sense.

"Apparently, I embezzled RM600 billion. The amount was then reduced to RM92.5 billion and it dropped again to RM4 billion to RM5 billion.

"Lastly it was RM300 million. What is going on? The numbers from the prime minister keeps changing.

"It's as if the prime minister himself is unsure of what he is accusing. If you are unsure, don't throw random accusation," he said.

Muhyiddin said Anwar's power as the prime minister will not last forever. "My advice is don't use your powers for political revenge to find nonexistent faults.

"Revenge politics will produce a negative effect," he added.
