ICPKL successful in uniting participants in solidarity of Palestine - Perkim

SEREMBAN - The International Conference on Palestine Kuala Lumpur (ICPKL) which was held for three days from Feb 10 has successfully united participants in solidarity of the Palestinians under Israeli occupation.

Islamic Welfare Association of Malaysia (Perkim) national women chief Tunku Puan Sri Noor Hayati Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj said she was proud to be among the people championing the Palestinian cause.

“Alhamdulillah, all praised be to Allah by whose grace, we are able to stand here today in solidarity of the Palestinian people, who for far too long have suffered under the yoke of oppression and injustice.

“We stand with those who have had their homes, their land, and their families torn apart by violence and conflict.

“Not only living in the reality of a harsh, cruel, heartless and racist environment but having been denied basic human rights and their voices silenced in the face of aggression,” she said in her speech at the ICPKL charity gala dinner.

She said people needed to continue making duas (prayers) for the Palestinians who are currently struggling in their own land.

The Palestinian youths, she said were the key to determine the future of Palestine and people needed to continue supporting them.

“Let's pray and reaffirm our support for the Palestinians in their quest to build a future of peace, justice, security and dignity for all,” she added.

Before ending her speech Tunku Noor Hayati called on the people to take a moment to make dua, not just for the Palestinians, but also those in Turkey and Syria who were affected by the earthquake.

ICPKL aimed at bridging the gap between the international community with Palestinian prisoners.

The conference was held at the Royal Chulan Hotel in Seremban from Feb 10 to Feb 12.

During the conference, organisers managed to raise funds to support 20 Palestinian prisoners’ families for a year.
