SHAH ALAM - Sinar Harian's prestigious business award ceremony, Business Sinar Harian Awards (BISA) took place for the very first time tonight at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Shah Alam.

Sinar Karangkraf Chief Executive Officer Farah Husammudin said was a starting point for Sinar Harian in its role to continuously empower local entrepreneurs.

“Different to the other business awards in Malaysia, Bisa is not simply an award. Bisa was designed to acknowledge local entrepreneurs especially the small and medium entrepreneurs.

"The award is not only to appreciate business owners, but to bring together many agencies in the business ecosystem," she said in her speech at the ceremony.

Farah added that more than 30 local entrepreneurs who had won awards tonight will be able to tell the stories of how they built businesses from the ground up, the challenges that they had to face and in the process inspire many others.

She went on to say that these entrepreneurs success stories, could set an example for other businessmen and women - especially youths who were about to start their own business journey.

"It is my hope that with the support and collaboration with the ministry and other governmental agencies, Sinar Harian would be able to play the role of a bridge that connects the various business communities in Malaysia," she said.

BISA is the first ever business award ceremony organised by Sinar Harian to uplift and give recognition to micro businesses especially to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs.

More than 30 local entrepreneurs were awarded for their success in business and more than a 100 guests attended the prestigious event which was also attended by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub as the guest of honour
