PUTRAJAYA - The Indonesia Circumcision Doctors Association (ASDOKI) educates and promotes circumcision among Indonesians via the internet.

ASDOKI's former chairman, Dr Darsono, said with the development of digital technology and the existence of websites and social media, doctors in Indonesia are now educating the Indonesian people that circumcision is easy, practical, and efficient.

He said that since 2012, they have been using the internet to educate the Indonesians that circumcision can now be done every day without having to wait for the holidays, as well as to explain the benefits of circumcision to Indonesian society.

"This process is accompanied by online promotion via social media, websites, and health applications.

"Each circumcision house or clinic should provide information demonstrating that current circumcision is simple, practical, and efficient, and that children can attend school and direct activities.

"Since 2012, all babies, children, and adults can be circumcised every day and do not have to wait for school holidays or work holidays for adults.

"So, we can see that there is a change in the mindset of Indonesian society," he said today at the Malaysian International Circumcision Conference 2022 at the Everly Hotel in Putrajaya.

Meanwhile, Darsono further added that since 2016, circumcision houses in Indonesia have been promoting baby circumcision and education to inform them about the advantages of circumcision.

"In addition, we also promote circumcision without needles so that it changes the mindset pattern in Indonesian society that current circumcision does not hurt and has minimal pain during local anesthesia," he said.

In his speech, he further added that in Indonesia, this has been carried out not only for Muslims but also for Protestant Christians, Catholic Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and Confucians on the grounds of health and hygiene.

The Malaysian International Circumcision Conference 2022 is a two-day conference held with the aim of discussing the latest guidelines and recent innovations in circumcision.

This two-day conference will feature seven prominent speakers from Indonesia, Singapore, and Myammar, as well as delegates from other countries, who will discuss the most recent circumcision updates.
