KRU headquarters fire causes early morning scare at Skypark
KUALA LUMPUR - An early morning fire at popular production KRU Group's headquarters here caused the Skypark here to be enveloped in thick smoke today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Hafisham Mohd Noor said the fire at the construction goods storage area at Jalan Teknokrat 1 took a total of seven hours to extinguish.
"We received the call on the incident at 3.47am and the firemen from Cyberjaya, Dengkil and Kuala Lumpur fire department arrived at 3.59am.
"The fire originated underground and had spread to the construction goods storage area, filling up the space with black smoke," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He said the fire was successfully contained around 10.40am.
"A ventilation process is being done to remove the smoke trapped in the building," he said.
