Melaka's Akmal leads in Umno youth race, Shahar remains second

KUALA LUMPUR - Merlimau assemblyman Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh is ahead of former deputy finance minister Mohd Shahar Abdullah for Umno Youth seat.

Akmal is 10 votes ahead from his rival with 20 voters.

The other two candidates Arman Abu Hanifah and Tuan Meor Hassan Mat Ali are yet to secure any votes.

Meanwhile, for the Umno Youth vice chief post. Tanah Merah MP Ikmal Hazlan Ikmal Hisham remains ahead with 16 votes.

Following him is Mohd Hairi Mad Shah with 11 votes while former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s son, Nazifuddin has secured two seats while Farhan Khairuddin has not secured any votes.
