KUALA LUMPUR - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has warned the government to stop its witch hunting mission on the opposition.

He said, as former Home Minister he had files in his possession which could implicate government leaders in wrongdoings, but said he was still thinking about whether to use them or not.

The Larut member of Parliament also criticised the government for denying political prosecution but targetted Perikatan Nasional (PN) with charges related to political funds.

"Anyone can donate to a party if they believed in the party's cause and struggle.

"So if you (the government) keep on harrassing us then we will consider it as political persecution.

"I can also find faults within the government so don't just try to find ours.

"I am the former Home Minister so I also have many files, but I am still thinking about using them," he said in a special interview with The Star.

Even so, Hamzah stressed that he would reveal the 'files' if the government kept 'disturbing' PN and upset them.

Although he did not mention any names in the interview, it was believed that it is related to the charges made againsts PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin recently.

Muhyiddin was charged in Kuala Lumpur Session Court on Friday on four counts of using his position to receive bribes amounting to RM232.5 million and money laundering amounting to RM195 million.

Muhyiddin, 76, who is also PN chairman and former prime minister, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read before Judge Azura Alwi - Agencies
