LENGGONG - The Umno party elections for all divisions in this state last week have resulted in positive developments.

Perak Umno chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the overall process for the wanita, youth and puteri wings ran smoothly in all 24 divisions in the state.

He said there were Umno divisions which took a longer to tally their votes as they had a higher number of representatives.

"Alhamdulillah there were no complaints in terms of a smooth administration handled by the (selection) committee. It had gone well.

"I saw a positive development in the division wings election results. Some retained their posts, some changed, and it displayed the democratic process well," he told reporters when met attending the Lenggong Umno Division Representative Meeting at the Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi Mara Lenggong Hall, here on Saturday.

The Umno elections this time saw Saarani retaining his post as Lenggong Umno division chief as he won uncontested.

Lenggong Umno division deputy chief and vice president were not contested thus retaining the positions of Datuk Mohd Tarmizi Idris and Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

Competition was only seen in the Umno division committee members posts.
