SEREMBAN - Umno will organise its state election machinery after the party election concludes.

Its deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said this was due to the leadership changes that has happened at the grassroot level primarily the Youth and Puteri wings.

"On average over 70 per cent of the chief and deputy chief as well as the committee wing lineup in each division are new as the 2018 election was postponed until 2023

"We will wait for the election results for division leaders today (Saturday) and when the division leaders are arranged, we will call a state liaison meeting to organise the state election machinery," he said when met by reporters after attending the 2023 Rembau Umno division Representative Meeting Conference on Saturday.

He said the new Youth and Puteri leadership must be trained intensively as they play an important role at the branch and grassroots level.

Mohamed who is also the Umno election director said he expects the new state liaison chairmen will be appointed after the party election.

"We have just had a meeting at the committee level, after this election many new (state) liaison chairmen will be appointed and it will be left to the president to decide later.

"However, as the Election Director I have held a meeting and called for all liaison chairmen to mobilise the machinery at BN's initial stages to face the state elections," he added
