SHAH ALAM - Sinar Karangkraf via the x SyriaCare Fund has raised RM306,901 to be donated to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

Its Chief Executive Officer Siti Sakinah Meor Omar Baki said the donations this time around will be used to prepare better accommodations for the affected victims.

"In the emergency phase, the initial aid was used to distribute tents, mattresses, and heating devices.

"And now we are going through the recovery process, where two-thirds of the aid received by Sinar Karangkraf will be used to build homes for the affected victims.

"We have identified a piece of land to build the houses. We will soon look at the design and the number of houses to be built for the victims," she said told reporters at Karangkraf headquarters today.

The Sinar Karangkraf x Syria Care cooperation, she said, also gives the opportunity to help Syrian refugees.

Also present were Group Sinar Karangkraf Chief Executive Officer Farah Hussamuddin, Sinar Karangkraf Group Marketing and Branding Chief Nik Justin Nik Mohd Ariffin and Sinar Karangkraf Editor-in-Chief Zambri Rambli.

In line with Sinar Karangkraf's tagline, Transparent and Truthful, Nik Justin said that he will make sure the fund reaches the victims.
