KUALA LUMPUR - Applications for the 2023 Music Industry Digital Content Fund (DKD), with RM10 million allocated to music industry players through funding opportunities of up to RM300,000, have been opened since yesterday (March 23).

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD), through its implementation agency Kumpulan MyCreative Ventures (MyCreative), hoped that the music Industry DKD will help realise MyCreative’s commitment to supporting the country’s creative industry, especially in the music industry.

"The 2023 Music Industry DKD is allocated by the government to facilitate and encourage industry players in the production, publication and dissemination of creative music content that can be marketed domestically and internationally.

"The fund is divided into three categories, namely the International Marketing and Promotion Fund, Marketability (Domestic) Create 2 Market Fund and Music Performance Fund,” it said.

MyCreative announced that the value of the grant for Create 2 Market is RM100,000 and RM300,000 for the other two categories.

According to MyCreative, the selection of recipients for all three funds will be based on merit to provide sustainable support in developing projects and music content that has high marketability.

It added that a total of RM3.6 million Music Performance DKD was approved last year, which focused on the organising of events in the form of performances or concerts.

Applications for the 2023 Music Industry DKD will be closed in stages and more information can be accessed via the website http://mycreative.com.my/dkdmuzik_2023. - BERNAMA
