M. Nasir's mother passed away

SHAH ALAM - The mother of popular singer-songwriter Datuk M. Nasir, Aesah Yahya has passed away at the age of 88 at her home in Singapore, at about 4.15pm, today.

She was believed to have died of old age.

The sad news was shared by M. Nasir’s wife Datin Marlia Musa through her Instagram account.

“Our beloved mother, Hajjah Aesah Yahya has just returned to her creator,” she wrote.

Fellow celebrities among others Alif Satar, Nad Zainal and Elly Mazlein extended their condolences upon hearing the news.

M. Nasir’s mother's passing was less than three years after his father, Mohamed Sam breathed his last at the age of 96 due to old age.

The fourth child out of nine siblings however was unable to return to Singapore for his father’s funeral at that time due to the Movement Control Order (MCO ) during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In court, the accused also publicly apologised to the victims' family members, the Malaysian Armed Forces and the public for his actions.
