MALACCA - The Melaka government may have a new Chief Minister this Friday.

It is understood that the swearing ceremony for the 14th Chief Minister will take place in front Yang di-Pertua Tun Mohd Ali Rustam at his office in Ayer Keroh.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali has so far declined to meet reporters.

Sources close to the chief minister’s office said they were waiting for instructions from the State Secretary.

Tanjung Bidara Assemblyman who was the Investment, Cooperative Development Industry Senior Exco Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh was said to replace the post had also refused to comment.

“I don’t want to comment further until further information,” he said briefly.

A thank you speech for Sulaiman’s service had recently gone viral on WhatsApp messaging system.

“We know what will happen in the next few days. May Allah SWT give the best of health for YAB Chief Minister. All the best!,” it said.
