MELAKA - Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali is still tight-lipped and has refused to comment over his resignation as Melaka Chief Minister.

He left Kompleks Seri Negeri Ayer Keroh at 11am with a smile while showing a hand gesture to apologise to the media who were waiting for him as early as 8am.

The black Mercedes Benz he was riding was heading to the chief minister's official residence in Seri Bendahara Ayer Keroh.

Prior to that, Sulaiman was seen entering his office at 8.59am by car to tahnk them for their assistance.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that the Lendu State Assemblyman had resigned as Melaka chief minister.

Zahid, the Umno president said Sulaiman submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday.

Zahid hd also said he would seek an audience with Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam to present the names of possible candidates to be appointed as the new chief minister.
