SHAH ALAM - Former Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan's marriage crisis is in the spolight again, when his wife filed for divorce at the Lower Syariah Court here on Thursday.

Housewife, Puan Sri Elly Afizahwati Abdul Jalil, 42, filed for divorce in accordance with Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law Enactment (Selangor) 2003.

The mother of an eight-year-old boy was accompanied by her syariah lawyers, Datuk Hazizah Kassim and Noorulhuda Daud.

The former businesswoman appeared in court donning a baju kurung, and filed an application for shiqaq (prolonged dispute).

The court then set May 11 for the re-mention of the case.

The couple got married on August 2, 2013 and was blessed with a child.

On March 9, Musa said that the marriage crisis he was facing was not new but had been going on for almost three years.

He said they no longer lived together as of six months ago.

He also urged the public to respect his privacy.

Previously, three video clips lasting nine seconds, 56 seconds, and 10 seconds were uploaded by Twitter users showing an argument between a couple which was also witnessed by a child.

The police confirmed that they have opened investigation papers regarding an incident involving Musa and his wife, whose video recording of their argument went viral on social media earlier this month.
