MELAKA - Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali is urged to provide an explanation as to the reason behind his resignation.

State Pejuang chief Sheikh Ikhzan Sheikh Salleh said this was because Barisan Nasional (BN) had won big in the last state election and has a strong stability in administering the state and implementing agendas for the people.

It was shocking to know that BN which has a two-thirds majority, and suddenly the chief minister has issued his resignation.

"This confirms the turmoil within the Melaka BN leadership, which started since Sulaiman was sworn in as chief minister.

"For me, Sulaiman's resignation shows that BN all along had its own agenda to fulfil its needs rather than taking care of the people's interests.

"I hope the people now can see the true nature of BN leaders who could go great lengths to fulfil their own agenda," he said in a statement on Thursday.

The Pejuang Central Executive Committee member also said the BN vote to ensure political stability during the state election was 'just nonsense' to deceive the people.

"BN leaders should prioritise the problems of the people who are still suffering and think of methods to solve them.
