Cinta Syria M'sia aims to raise RM1.3 million for Syrian, Turkey earthquake victims

KUALA LUMPUR - Cinta Syria Malaysia (CSM) organised a charity buka puasa event, Nur Kasih 2.0 to raise RM 1.3 million for Syrians affected by earthquake and war.

This event attended by 350 people was a part of CSM Ramadan Mission campaign held to mark their 10-year anniversary at Bayswater at KLCC, here.

It was officiated by Academy of Islamic Civilization at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, former lecturer, Dr Kamaruzaman Yusof.

CSM founder and chief executive officer Ahmad Musa Al-Nuwayri said the mission will focus include February 6 earthquake victims in Turkey.

"On the 4th April, the CSM team, together with Noh Salleh, Faizal Tahir, and Farah Lee, will leave for Syria for their 10th Ramadan Mission.

“Unlike this year's Ramadan Mission, humanitarian aid will also be distributed to earthquake victims in Gaziantep, Turkey, and Jindires, Syria," he added.

This effort is supported by MAPIM with a donation of RM300,000. The charity organisations Iman Care and the Barakah Charity Association also donated RM40,000 and RM25,000 to CSM's Ramadan Mission fund.

The funds will be used to help 51,230 Syrians, according to estimates with basic necessities like food and new clothes during Ramadan and to prepare for Aidilfitri.

In addition, Ahmad Musa also officiated eight CSM Sustainability Projects which includes education, medical, and welfare assistance for Syrian refugees in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Malaysia.

A line-up of artist, social media influencers and professionals participated in the event including Noh Salleh, Zizi Kirana, Yusuf Bahrin, Aizat Amdan, Aliza Kim, Khairul Hakimin Muhammad, Dr Ahamd Samhan, and Dr Maiza Tusimin.
