SHAH ALAM - Pas Selangor strongly condemns the ongoing attacks by the Israeli forces against Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, last night.

Its information chief Nushi Mahfodz described the action of Israel's military regime as "barbaric".

"Their action is barbaric and despicable towards the Muslims in Palestine who are fasting in the month of Ramadan.

"Such inhumane act is regrettable and should not have taken place when Muslims are fasting," he said in a statement, today.

He said Pas Selangor called on all religious representatives in the country to condemn the attack which defiled the sanctity of the mosque which was the third holiest site in Islam on the basis of universal justice and humanity.

He said Pas Selangor was consistent in defending Islamic beliefs and its people and was firm in rejecting the existence of Israel as a sovereign state in the West Asian region.

It was earlier reported that clashes erupted inside the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem early Wednesday as Israeli police said they had entered to dislodge "agitators", in a move denounced as an "unprecedented crime" by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.
