Two men arrested for burning a car

SEREMBAN - Police have arrested two men to assist in investigations into burning a car case in an incident on early Saturday morning at Taman Seremban Jaya here.

Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nanda Maarof said he had previously received a report from a 19-year-old man over his car that was almost 50 per cent burnt.

"The incident happened at about 4.30am when the victim's car was parked in front of his house in Taman Seremban Jaya.

"Result of investigation found that a man had threw something suspected to be flammable liquid at the car and ran away. However, the police is still investigating the cause of the incident," he said.

Following that, the police had arrested two men aged 17 and 22 years old for investigation purposes and the two suspects will receive a remand order at the Seremban Magistrate's Court today.

"An investigation paper has been opened under Section 435 of the Penal Code which provides a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and fine," he said.
