KOTA KINABALU - Three Sabah State Legislative Assembly members have been sacked from Umno, said Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

He said the three assemblymen were Datuk James Ratib (Sugut), Datuk Mohd Arsad Bistari (Tempasuk) and Datuk Jasnih Daya (Patai Dalit).

"This three had been sacked. James has been fired, and Mohd Arsad and Jasnih have also been dismissed. Meanwhile, Shahelmey is suspended," he said in a press conference after chairing the Sabah Umno Liaison Committee meeting at Umno Building, here, today.

When asked about Tanjong Batu assemblyman Datuk Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy, Bung Moktar said no action was taken against him.

Andi Muhammad was still in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and was appointed as Sabah Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Assistant Minister.

On Feb 21, four assemblymen, including James, Mohd Arsad, and Jasnih, announced their departure from the party and joined the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat).

Additionally, Balung assemblyman Datuk Hamid Awang also decided to leave Umno.
