SHAH ALAM - Pas is confident of winning in Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah in the upcoming state polls following the wave of Malay and youth support continuing from the 15th general election (GE15).

Pas Central Committee Member Dr Halimah Ali said the wave is not subsiding as the group wanted the change from the grassroots level.

"The current political landscape is not stable and has pushed this group towards reviewing the best party for the government.

"We are confident the spirit will continue until the upcoming state election, and we will be able to win a majority of votes in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah," he said.

Halimah was speaking at the Sinar Wacana programme titled 'State Election: The Signal for Putrajaya' which was aired live on all Sinar Harian digital platforms on Tuesday.

The panel was attended by PKR deputy information chief Chua Wei Kiat and political observer Iswardy Morni, while Ismail Adnan acted as moderator.

Halimah who was the Kapar MP said Perikatan Nasional (PN) has no stigma as the party only brings Malay and Islamic beliefs.

"There may be some parties who miss the point and make PN look racist, but that is not true.

"For everyone's knowledge, at Pas gatherings, there are supporters of all races, religions, and nationalities. Those who joined the group had their own desires, needs, and hopes," she explained.

She said it is impossible for Pas to carry such sentiments as the party's constitution mentions fostering racial unity.

She said the party wants to unite and develop individuals of various races and religions to share in the prosperity.
