DUNGUN - A carpenter was charged in the magistrate's court here today with the murder of his wife in Bukit Besi near here early this month.
Mohd Amir Hamzah, 32, nodded when the charge was read out to him before magistrate Noradila Ab. Latif, but no plea was recorded.
He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code with murdering Rubiah Sabtu, 41, in Kampung Besol, Batu 6, Bukit Besi, between 7.30 am and 8 am last April 5.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nur Athirah Hashim, while the accused was represented by a lawyer from the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK), Hafizul Faris Che Razlan.
