SHAH ALAM - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's "excessive theatrics" may cause trouble for Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the upcoming state election.

PKR's Srikandi Deputy Chief Armisah Abd Garan said such action were only meant to divert attention from his failure to govern the state.

"Sanusi is seen as being overly dramatic with the Federal government while giving a perception that he is being oppressed by the federal government.

"I believe that the drama he is trying to play may only for the benefit of TikTok content creators."

"Furthermore, his previous statements and criticisms can be seen as mere empty and without facts," she said in a statement today.

Previously, Sanusi claimed that there were deliberate attempts to remove him as Kedah's Menteri Besar representative in the National Finance Council.

Last March, Sanusi announced that he had received a written directive from the cabinet banning his attendance at any government-organised events, including the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 (LIMA'23) from May 23 to 27.

Meanwhile, Armisah said the Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar had welcomed and accompanied Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the programme Terengganu last Saturday.

She further said Ahmad Samsuri's official Facebook page shows that the ties between the Terengganu and the federal government was closer and Anwar's visit shows a commitment to strengthen the relationship between the two government.

However, Armisah claimed Sanusi is still creating propaganda that he is being curbed, including that he was removed from the National Finance Council.

But she said according to Article 108 of the Federal Constitution, only the Kedah Sultan could remove him from the position.

Furtehrmore, she said the Menteri Besar has failed to provide any evidence to support his claims that he was being ousted, only proving that is allegations are likely to be baseless.
