SHAH ALAM - The official to replace Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, starting this Thursday, remains a mystery.

Currently, there are three Health Deputy Director Generals -

Datuk Dr Asmayani Khalib, Datuk Dr Norhayati Rusli, and Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan.

Dr Norhayati is the only senior officer who was with Dr Noor Hisham when the country was hit by Covid-19 in early 2020.

Dr Norhayati was the Disease Control Division director before being appointed to the current position on July 15, 2022.

Dr Radzi was also appointed on the same date.

Meanwhile, Dr Asmayani, who previously served as Penang Health Department in Penang was appointed as deputy DG on August 17, 2021.

It is understood that the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, has not signed the appointment letter yet.

Dr Noor Hisham will end his 35 years of service in the country's health sector on April 21.
