MELAKA - The Melaka state government and related agencies will review star rating systems with all hotels in the state to ensure the services provided meet the expected standards.

"This is not only based on complaints received from visitors, but we want to give the best services to both foreign and local tourists in preparation for the Visit Melaka Year 2024.

"For example, there are hotels with a three- or four star rating, but their services do not reflect the ratings," he told reporters in an Eid open house ceremony in Telok Mas here on Friday.

The event were also attended by Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

Razak said the state government, through the Melaka Museum Corporation (Perzim) is upgrading four museums in the state to improve the quality of service to tourists.

"The total number of visitors in the museums in Melaka as of March 31 recorded 329,000 individuals with a ticket collection of RM1.2 million, and we are optimistic that the target of one million visitors at the Melaka museum can be reached by the end of the year.
