Drug suspect finally caught after six years on the run

ISKANDAR PUTERI - Police confirm the arrest of a drug suspect who has been on the run since 2017 by the Iskandar Puteri District Security and Crime Prevention motorcycle patrol unit (URB).

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Rahmat Ariffin said the suspect in his 30s was arrested at Jalan Persiaran Perdana, Taman Tan Sri Yaakob here.

“We successfully arrested the suspect wanted for six years (2017) under Section 15 (1) (a) f the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952," he said today.

He added that the suspect has been taken into custody at the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters (IPD) for further interrogation.

Rahmat said URB had also detained a man tested positive for methamphetamine type drugs at the same location on Saturday for further investigation under Section 15(1) (a) of the DDA 1952.
