Pamungkas marks second performance in KL

KUALA LUMPUR - Indonesian singer, Pamungkas, famous for his unique voice and captivating lyrics, performed his second concert titled Nusa Fest Presents Pamungkas in Malaysia, which took place at Zepp KL, yesterday.

Pamungkas, whose full name is Rizki Rahmahadian, said that he successfully had his concert in five countries in Southeast Asia: Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

"The "Birdy" is my fourth album throughout my career as a musician. That was my first time going abroad, outside of my country.

"After I finished the concert of in Indonesia, there were several of my fans from Malaysia who came to Indonesia.

"So, I had discussions with Shiraz Project about bringing it back to Malaysia for a second time.

"Also, I heard in Malaysia that the music industry is reset again after the pandemic, so I thought, why not?

"I also think that the enthusiasm from the last concert was huge, so that’s why," he said in a press conference.

When asked his opinion on his song "To The Bone," which was a hit song on TikTok during the pandemic, Pamungkas further added that this song was a key for him to enter the music industry in Malaysia.

"I have a lot of songs; I have four albums and two extended plays (EPs). It’s so many songs. However, "To The Bone" is the winner of all of my songs," he added.

During the two hours concert, the Jakarta-born pop and blues artist performed 23 songs, such as "Flying Solo," "Sorry," "Closure," "A Day That Feels Better," "Monologue," "To The Bone," and more.

At the Indonesian Music Awards in 2021, the singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor won the Best Alternative Performance prize for “I Don't Wanna Be Alone” as well as the Alternative Song Of The Year title for “To The Bone”.

Two years ago, “To The Bone” which also made it into Indonesia's Top 50 tracks, was the most popular song in Indonesia on the music streaming service Spotify.
