Selangor Pas confirms receiving applications from big names to join party
SHAH ALAM - Selangor Pas confirms receiving applications from former political leaders from other parties to join the party.
Selangor Pas Commissioner Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said these big names in politics will be announced soon.
He said the political figures’ applications would be sent to Central Pas and would be discussed and decided by the grassroot leadership.
"They have made the applications, but whether they were accepted is not yet known," he said.
He said this at the Selangor State Pas Eid Open House event at Seksyen 13 here on Sunday.
When asked regarding the possibility of those leaders attending the Selangor Pas-organised open house ceremony, Yunus did not comment further on the candidates.
"We will wait for the announcement to be made after we receive the orders from Central Pas," he said.
The open house was attended by former Umno leaders, among them Muafakat Nasional (MN) organisation president Tan Sri Annuar Musa, former Selangor Umno chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar, as well as Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
The ceremony was attended by Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali from Bersatu.
