Ruling political parties to gather for national convention Sunday

SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expresses his confidence that the Unity Government National Convention this Sunday will be held in a friendly and harmonious atmosphere.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman said the convention involving political parties was intended to strengthen the unity government's collective efforts.

“The political parties that formed the unity government will gather in a friendly environment this Sunday (May 14) to strengthen the leadership line up and move forwards for the future of Malaysia and its people,” he said in his Facebook post, today.

The inaugural convention was expected to bring together more than 10,000 delegates and supporters from 19 parties within the unity government coalition. The event is scheduled to be held at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTC).

The assembly, themed 'Madani: Raising the People's Agenda,' will run concurrently with the Youth and Puteri National Convention, as well as the Women's Convention which will end at 12.30pm.

At 2pm, all the ruling coalition presidents - PH, BN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in addition other component party presidents will be present.

Anwar was expected to deliver a mandate and a declaration of the convention.
