Sabah, S'wak Chief Ministers reiterate solid backing for Unity Govt

KUALA LUMPUR - Sabah and Sarawak top leaderships reiterate solid backing for the Unity Government.

Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) President Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the purpose of four different political parties under Unity Government gathered under the same roof was to streamline the consensus.

"We only have one desire, one determination by taking care of the people.

"There were bad comments on Unity Government's governance, including those who says 'sleeping on a pillow is like another dream’.

"We let them talk and we continue the battle because our struggle is for the sake of the people," he said.

He said this at the “Bicara Rakyat - Empowering the People’s Economy on the Unity Government National Convention at World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur today.

Therefore, Hajiji gives its support to the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Unity Government he leads.

Meanwhile, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman Abang Johari Abang Openg said the country needs a reform in terms of economy.

"We have to reform our economy, it must be based on new economy, no more things as usual.

"So we have to move towards sustainable economy," he said.

Johari also expressed his utmost gratitude to Anwar for giving an allocation for Sarawak which benefits many people there.

"GPS will continue with the Unity Government to lift and create a strong government at the Federal level.

"We must focus on raising the dignity of the country, we must be competitive at the world level," he said.
