PUTRAJAYA - Any attempt to sabotage the Unity Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will no longer be entertained.

Anwar insisted, despite several attempts through statutory declaration and other attempts of sabotage the administration he leads today is strong.

He said this is proven by the commitment of all parties in the Unity Government and the the Unity Convention that took place on Sunday.

"I am more confident because yesterday's convention has proven that we have a strong government," he said in a speech in conjunction with the Prime Minister's Monthly Assembly with members of the Prime Minister's Department at De' Seri Endon Hall, Puspanitapuri on Monday.

According to him, the country's performance will improve if a government is stable and runs long term, that is until the next general election.

"So you have to be patient with me for now. For what? If you look at the figures from the Department of Statistics (DOSM), it shows that the first quarter is much better than what was projected in November and December last year," he said.

He said, the national projection was not as good as it is now with the national economic growth target of 4.45 to five per cent.

"But what happened was the first quarter of this year witnessed an economic growth of 5.6 per cent, the inflation rate and the amount of unemployment decreased as well as an increase in investment," he said.

He said, the federal government, state and local authorities that receive investment projects should work as hard as possible to ensure a more confident growth momentum.
