SHAH ALAM - Ticket scalpers, the bane of fans and artistes, are reselling tickets to the upcoming Coldplay concert in Malaysia, for a higher price on various platforms online.

Checks on social media revealed that some even sell them for double the price.

A ticket scalper who purchased a ticket from the “My Universe” zone, which retails at RM2108, is selling it for RM4000.

Another individual is selling a CAT4 ticket (RM598) for RM1569, which is almost a 50 per cent increase from the original price.

Checks also revealed that an individual was selling two CAT3 tickets (standing zone retail price at RM658 each) for RM2000.

A quick check on Twitter showed that many users are selling Coldplay tickets at the original price.

Desperate to nab the tickets themselves, fans expressed their frustration over the matter.

A Twitter user @nayrellmusings urged the authorities to take immediate action on the tickets scalpers.

"Somehow some of the ticket scalpers resell it (the tickets) on other platforms (Carousell).

"As stated in the terms and conditions, the event organizer has the right to cancel the resale ticket without compensation. Please do so," she stressed.

Meanwhile, another user @holycannoli09 warned Malaysians to not fall into the trap of scammers.

"If you notice, there’s a pattern of people tweeting using the same tags and when you go to their profile, it’s an overseas account with few tweets and no interactions.

"I know we’re all desperate but please be mindful," she said.

Earlier this morning, the Live Nation website crashed when pre-sale tickets for Coldplay's 'Music of the Spheres World Tour' went live.

The website was supposed to open for pre-sale tickets for CIMB Bank cardholders at 10 am and the queue started at 9 am today.
