KUALA LUMPUR - The wall of a unit at the Loke Yew public housing flat was ripped off during a thunderstorm which was followed by heavy rain, here, last night.

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said it had installed a temporary wall at the unit to avoid any untoward incidents.

“A temporary wall was installed at the unit before carrying out repair works,” it said in a statement, today.

DBKL said four units at Block 3 of the Seri Johor public housing were affected after the block's roofs were blown off during the thunderstorm.

Immediate action has been taken by DBKL to cover up the areas with the roof debris.

“Temporary canvas installation works has been done on the roof of the units affected before carrying out repair works.

“The electricity supply of the affected units has been cut off for safety purposes,” it said.

DBKL said affected residents were asked to temporarily move in with their relatives nearby and that there were no temporary evacuation shelters (PPS) provided right now.
