SHAH ALAM - There will be no issues in discussing the state elections since we are moving on the existing foundation, says Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general.

Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said the seat allocation and distribution with Pakatan Harapan (PH) have been discussed.

"BN Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has been tasked with the responsibility of being chief negotiator and election director on seat sharing with PH, and it has been discussed.

"In terms of the difficulty of the discussion with the coalition party, I think there were no issues.

"It doesn't seem so difficult because we are moving on the existing foundation," he said.

Zambry further said that it is important to ensure a good distribution of seats and the positions of the parties in the coalition.

"This Unity government can be divided in terms of seat distribution. For example, there are areas where the seat position is too big for one party and might not have the spirit of the Unity Government in the area.

"But what is being discussed now is how we want to place candidates who are also in the party but are from other parties," he said.
